We look after about 50 pools and have a couple which have above water staining, that has turned the blue tiles sort of greyish, cant seem to remove using normal type products anyone have any idea?

Can you take a picture and post a full set of test results? That would help a lot in figuring out what it may be.
You could try a magic eraser. I use those to clean my waterline tile sometimes, works good.

For oils causing the scumline, I use a moist 'scrubbie sponge' with a little pH up powder (sodium carbonate) or Alk + (baking soda - sodium bicarbonate) sprinkled on it. It's cheap, cause you already have it on hand and works well
