Getting Finished - (Pool Build Central FL)

UPDATE: A/C Unit Moved - New Pool Build- Central Florida

The weather was kind today ... low-80s. The A/C contractor showed up at 830AM this morning ready to move my A/C unit to make room for the pool plumbing. He had to extend the 1/2 inch PVC drip pipe, shorten the electrical conduit running from the box, and extend/splice the copper (freon?) tubing to run around to the side where the new pad was placed. It took them 4 hours to do the job. They also conspicuously marked the buried pipes to avoid them from being dug up when the pool plumbing gets done.

This week .... the forms will be removed and plumbing will be installed.

Forms Removed & Plumbing Prep - New Pool Build- Central Flor

I arrived to the house after work today to find even more excavation having been done and the forms removed. The pool had been partially backfilled up to the level of where the plumbing lines will be connected. It appears that during the excavation around the skimmer, the 2 elbows exiting were snapped off underneath the skimmer. I took a quick look beneath and it still has 5" of 2in SCH40 exiting from the bottom ... unsure if the skimmer housing was damaged in any way. I'll find out tomorrow after speaking with my PB. Looking foward to seeing level ground back ther soon! Please check out the pics and I welcome any observations and comments, especially that potential skimmer issue.

Warm regards from FL,

Karl

Re: New Pool Build- Central Florida

My PB left a fair amount of trash between forms removal and back-fill as well. They promised to remove, and they did - doesn't mean I wasn't all anxious about it though - as I expect you might be as well.

Re: New Pool Build- Central Florida

It has been a busy week for me and I apologize for the slow update. My PB had one guy come out and do the entire plumbing job. Took him about 2 days to finish the job. There are still onesy-twosey item to be taken care of but the Friday rain chased him away. The skimmer elbows that were snapped off previously had broken clean off; thankfully the skimmer body was left intact and there was plenty length left to fix it up. He said he would be coming back to "jumping-jack" the back fill and when that finished, it'll it will bve time to build the deck forms. Enjoy the pics, feel free to comment!

Re: New Pool Build- Central Florida

My PB had his entire crew out today ... the pool is now backfilled and soil tamped down. The forms are about 95% complete with another inspection coming late Tuesday or Wednesday. The tile man has his trailer parked out back, gonna be tiling very soon. I am liking the expansive equipment pad, after seeing some of the tangled plumbers' nightmares of others' builds, I am hopeful for a well thought layout.

Regards,

Karl

PB installed the tile ... looks very nice. It's 6inch Noble Tile, China Blue. Things are beginning to take shape; looking like a rain day today. Hoping for the deck to get poured tomorrow.

Re: Much Progress!!!! - Pool Build Central Florida

Looks like things are moving along well...good thing too as it won't be long until swimmin' weather is upon us. Although maybe our northern tier friends would be already be able to take a dip, my water is hovering around 80.

Be careful at this point - same thing happened to me, and it turned out that the skimmer is indeed damaged and leaking in the housing due to the stress - something they discovered right after they put water in the pool. Solution is not going to be pretty.

Re: Deck Poured!!!! - Pool Build Central Florida

Things moved right along this week with my PB pouring the deck and cantilever edge. The weather has been very cooperative ... going to be seeing mid-80s for the next week or so. Great pool building weather!
