Ok, Adding to a previous post ... We decided to purchase the leaf net as Duraleigh suggested. My next question now is .. do or can we completely cover the pool and put the leaf net over top of the cover OR is it possible to float our solar cover in the pool as it would be in the summer months, putting the leat net overtop of it But does this not affect your winter shocking of the water and the poly60 you put in for algea control over the winter.? Also will we need to run the pump a minimum number of hours each day during the winter?

Anything that keeps leaves from sitting in pool water for long periods of time will work in milder climates. If the leaf net sitting on the solar cover keeps the leaves dry then go for it.

There are two schools of thought on winter pump run time in mild climates. Some people essentially keep the pool open, just reducing their pump run time dramatically. Others go through the whole fall closing and spring openning routine and keep the pump off for the most part. Either way you run the pump when the temperature is below freezing.
