Animal is chewing a hole in my cover!

Some animal keeps chewing the side of my cover. Arg!
So far it has made a hole the size of a pingpong ball.
I need to stop this ASAP, what should I do?

The only animals that I can think of that would do this are mice or rats. Squirrels are chewers on certain things but I don't think that your cover would interest them as it doesn't taste like an acorn. Have you seen any evidence of them other than the chewed area on your cover? How about little droppings laying around?

You might consider baiting some traps. If you are keeping pet food on your porch, now would be a good time to stop that practice.

Sounds like a chipmunk to me. They're worse than squirrels and more outdoors than mice/rats.
