What is the best product to use on seals (filter o rings, etc.) when closing a pool?

Silicon pool lube is the best to use. It doesn't attack the rubber compounds and it's easy to clean up if needed.

I use Dow Corning High Vacuum Grease, it is commonly available over the counter at many automotive suppliers. Its a little thicker than some silicone greases so it works well for difficult to seal threads and also has multiple uses around the garage like for spark plug boots etc. Its 100% silicone product and safe for all plastics
