Our pool is about 2 years old and the Jandy PDA when turning on the spa heater displays the temp however now it is registering -1 and will not allow us to adjust the temp for the heater to heat the spa... Not sure if it has anything to do with the fact that the spa side controls are are also not working.... we can directly turn the heater on but a little silly when this system is only two years old.

Displaying a -1 usually indicates a bad temp sensor. It can't allow you to adjust the temp if it doesn't know what the temo now is. It's possible that the malfunction is related to the spa side controls but I'll defer to the people more experienced with the Jandy than I.
