Deciding on whether the liquidator would fit in my system

Hello fellow TFPers  ,

I've been on the fence for some time now on whether or not I should get the liquidator. I don't mind adding chlorine everyday or two manually, but would like to not worry about the pool when gone for vacation. I'm also not sure if the liquidator is more trouble than it's worth reading about some member's experiences with it.

My system's pretty dated and the set up is nothing fancy. I've posted pictures of the suction and return parts (tagged with red rectangle) where I think the liquidator tubes need to be placed. I'm worried that the blue/black glue(?) on the PVC would prevent a proper seal for the drilled hole. What do you guys think? Thanks!
