I'm glad to find this great site, We are hiring a contractor to build our 1st IG Vinyl pool, here are the spec 18x32 16,000 gallons, STA-RITE Dyna Glas 2hp pump and System 3 Modular cartridge 300ft2, JANDY Aqua Pure 1400 Generator and 325,000 btu LJ Digital Hot Ignition Gas Heater. Is this a good combination? Comments welcome.

They are all good and common brands of equipment, but I don't know specifically about the models.

You could save quite a bit on electricity by getting a smaller pump and/or a two speed pump. A 3/4 HP full rated or 1 HP up rated pump would be plenty since you don't have any water features (spa, waterfall, fountain, etc).
