Back wash pipe leaking

My pool is 15 months old, only used about 6 months. Noticed I was losing water, the backwash pipe has a steady stream of water running out. I have played around with the valve and it dosent stop it.

Water comes out of the pipe even when the pump is off. Could it be some type of gasket ? Seems too soon to be having problems. Thanks

From your brief description, the gasket inside the multiport valve sounds like the culprit.

It's a reasonable DIY project if you are inclined to do so.

I agree with Dave, the spider gasket has probably rolled out of the groove. Shut off the flow to the filter and take the top off of the valve and you should be able to tell if the spider gasket is the problem. As Dave said, it's relatively easy to replace.
