Blotchy Plaster

Our build has been going very smoothly and we are very pleased with everything up until now. The plaster is a Sunstone regatta blue and is not turning out to be very uniform in appearance. When trying to decide on a color we went to several other pools from the same builder and only seen minor cases of mottled plaster. From day one we noticed the areas in question but we were told that brushing and the acid treatment would reduce the issue. Well, its been 6 days now and we have been constantly brushing but it looks the same. The builders helper was over here daily checking out the pool and even yesterday he stated to keep brushing and they may need to apply more acid to area, not sure how that works since it is filled with water!! Does anyone have any ideas on how we can get rid of the blotchy look or reduce it significantly?

It sure looks like uneven exposure of the aggregate. The builder should take care of it!! I'm not sure how they will deal with it; draining and acid washing would work, but they'll probably try doing an acid bath, where they drastically lower the pool's pH and tell you to keep brushing. Hopefully a plaster expert will comment...
