Got about half way finished or maybe a little more on a 40 x 48 deck for a 30' pool hope to finish it by Monday. Only problem is when i started filling up the pool the liner had a hole in it so they going to have to come Tuesday and put another liner in it. Where are you located and are you going to cover the pool for closing? If so, how will you get the cover on the pool with the deck being under the top rail like that? Just wondering...

Your deck looks very nice and strong. It really adds to your pool. I hope your deck boards do not interfere with removing the connector caps so you can take off the top rails. My deck was built by the prior owner and he did not allow for the connector caps having to be pulled back about 2 inches to remove them. When I had to replace the caps I had to remove a lot of deck boards.
I am located in Alabama and yes i will cover the pool in winter. When i put the cover on i will fasten it to the deck. I asked that same question of some other people with decks like mine and that is how they said they fasten there cover.
I left plenty of room between the pool and the end of the deck boards so you can pull the post back when you remove the top rail.

Just some lattice around the bottom and a little cosmetic work wait a couple months and stain it and i will be finished Couldn't decide how to do the rails but i think using the boards with small gap worked out pretty good and look ok. very nice! I normally use spindles on my baluster (2X2 pieces, 4 inch spacing) but yours provides more privacy and probably more solid!
I like Deck Bloks too- but miss the hollow ones!

I "heard" that as long as it isn't attached to your home, it is well within "code". Ours is small anyway and it can be taken down so I am with you.
this is true- but if against code, building suppliers usually don't stock them; if Home Depot/Lowes have them in stock, then they aren't against code- just maybe some restrictions such as attached to home or size or such...

did you use treated wood for the floor joists? In the first pics they look untreated.
