Very interesting story. I was told that the 'pool' has to be filled with something, either water or dirt, or the walls will cave it eventually. No??
No. Pools are engineered to withstand the outward forces of the water, but they will not collapse.
That said, I've seen some of the pools built around here and I may have to retract that one day

wow that is ingenious, what a fantastic use for that space, i know what plant i would grow though.......
