Is there a diffrence between TA and alkalinity?

I just had Pebble tec installed, and the instructions are to keep alkalinity bellow 70 during the first 72 hours. I used 2 gal of muriatic acid to bring TA to 120 and PH 7.2.
The instructions say " lower the alkalinity..." not "lower TA..." 27K gal pool.
 
Yes, TA stands for alkalinity, they are the same. People use the terms total alkalinity and alkalinity interchangeably. TA= alkalinity for the purposes here, yes, it's the same thing.

(yes, I know the nuances, but for the purpose here, they can be used as the same thing) :wink:
