Lightening

Thought our Aquatrol got fried yesterday by a very close lightening strike.
Went outside after big hit and the pump wasn't running on the pool. I went and looked at the panel and there was no power. I unplugged the pump from the panel and plugged it into the receptacle and started the pump. I then unplugged the Aquatrol and took off the cover to check the fuse, the fuse was fine. I put the fuse back in and plugged the unit back into the receptacle and it powered up, cut the pump off, plugged it back into the unit and all is good.

That is scarey stuff because the costs add up while you scramble to get something else going to take care of the pool. We have an insurance policy on our pool. covers damage from lightening strikes, tornadoes, etc. We have had lightening hit close by and it kicked out the GFI - reset and its all good again, but just in case....
