question about CCs

I know in order to bring down CCs you are supposed to shock. But does raising the FC a bit but not to shocking numbers also have the ability to bring down CCs?

4 days or so ago my numbers were:

3 FC
35 CYA
.5 CC
7.6 PH
70 TA

So I brought the FC up to 8 and a few days later my numbers are:

5 FC
35 CYA
0 CC
7.6 PH
70 TA

My question is, what is the likely reason my CCs went down? Is it just because whatever organics the CL was breaking down was finished or is it possible that raising the FC to 8 and keeping it a drop high for about 2 days brought the CCs back to 0?

Any elevation in FC will contribute to diminish CC's. Sunlight on your pool also helps.

Don't worry about your results too much. For our purposes here on the forum, .5CC is the same as ZERO.
