Ballast/Balance tank over filling

Hi Guys

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I have moved into a villa with an overflow pool. The problem im having is that unless i shut the main drain valve, the balance tankballast tank overfills way past the ball cock auto fill. if i shut the main drain it levels out correctly.


Any help would be greatly appreciated

Those symptoms suggest that there is a check valve somewhere between the main drain and the ballast tank that is not working correctly.
