my pool is shooting bubbles. this is a new development. no obvious problems. what should I be looking for?

If you had a SWCG, I'd suspect that's it.

there is a tiny crack in the pipe that connects the skimmer hose to the basket that attatches to the motor. I am guessing that may be it? would that be right? I know I am not using right terminology....
I'd bet that crack is your issue. Any crack or leak in the suction line (skimmer to pump) will suck air into the system.
I replaced the part that was cracked....thought I would be home free when I saw the basket fill with water and no air at all. But low and behold the return was still shooting bubbles. I took apart everything. all fittings checked o rings did all the tips and hints to find out where air is getting in. put it all back together and still have bubbles. less bubbles but bubbles. I am not sure what to do next.
Is your skimmer weir operating freely or is your skimmer creating a vortex and sucking air in that way?
Did you lube the o-ring on the pump strainer basket lid?

there is no vortex. I bled the pressure out of the filter. I did not lube the o ring. I will try that.
This post is three years old and I still have bubbles! Lots of them and I never did figure it out.
