I started using Liquidator last year with total success, and no WS. This year I upgraded to 3/8" line and had WS from the first fill of chlorine. i was devastated. Besides the 3/8* line, what was different? Just before the fill, I cleaned the LQ inside with vinegar, something I use to get rid of calcium build up. (The sides were "crusty" and I thought it was a calcium buildup) Vinegar worked fine and I rinsed well. But the fill of chlorine (12.5%) immediately created a ton of WS at the bottom and I had floating "flakes" throughout the water

I let the chlorine in LQ get used up; I siphoned out all the WS at the bottom, and refilled with chlorine from a new jug. And.... no problem with WS

Can some chlorine batches contain a "pollutant"? Was the WS a result of the residue of vinegar even though I rinsed the LQ well, I thought.

The plastic tubes seem free of WS except AFTER the flow meter where I notice some whiteness. I notice also that the tube leading from the flow meter is half air, half water. This is strange and would indicate some air coming into flow meter from outside, but I have no leaks

All this is submitted in answer to number 12 question: anything else pertinent

Good luck with your investigation. (Wasnt there a long chain of info on WS from last year?)

I didn't have the borates the first year, but no problem with WS ever. Pool is filled with softened water (household water softener). I do have white flakes that are part of the normal sediment that forms at the bottom of the tank and can be stirred up when adding CL, but I don't consider this the dreaded WS, because I have never had any form on any of the important parts. The original tubing turned opague/white, but no deposits forming, just lost it's clarity. AFter 3 years, my parts are all still clean, though I just replaced some parts for other reasons.
