Above vs Inground Pool Cleaners

Good afternoon all,

I have a friend who recently sold their home and has a Dolphin Robotic Pool Cleaner. This cleaner was used for his inground pool and he wanted to give me the product.

The problem is I have an above ground pool.

Can I use an inground pool cleaner in my above ground pool?

Does the Dolphin climb walls? I don't know how a cleaner that climbs/crawls walls would work on an AG pool - if wall crawlers wouldn't damage or malfunction in an AG, then go to town!
