Hayward catridge filter Lid doesn't open

I have hayward super star clear filer system. Want to clean my catridge filter.
I spend a more 1/2 hour but this lid doesn't want to come off, its stuck on the bottom. Any tips on how to open this lid. May be i don't have enough strength lol
