Boost cycle on intex SWG?

What does the boost cycle on the intex saltwater generator do? I know it makes it run ~4x longer then usual and it talks about increasing the copper ions in the pool. It also says the word "shock at one point" but never says it will increase the chlorine to shock levels..

So on a SWG pool is boost the same as shock? Should it be done once a week like the chemicals say to do? Or should I add liquid chlroine once a week?

No, boost is not the same as shock. A SWG is designed to add chlorine slowly and steadily. When shocking you want to add lots of chlorine all at once. Boost just runs the SWG for a fixed somewhat long period and stops, which does whatever it does. That usually raises the chlorine level, but isn't usually even close to shocking.
