Normal PSI new system?

Is there such thing?
Our "clean" pressure on our new pool is about 12psi.
Seems lower than the 20's i've read on here.
Is this at all significant or just a function of the way our system is set up, size of filter/pump, etc?
we have a Jandy DE filter, jandy stealth pump. we are not using the heater yet and have all skimmers/drains/returns active.
thanks!

Filter pressure is dependent on the size of the pump and the plumbing design so there really is no "normal" other than what is right for your setup. Lower pressure than average is usually a sign of an efficient setup although not always.

The important thing is the change in filter PSI from nominal. It can tell you if there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

thanks Mark...
the first week or so it did pop up 8-10lbs or so because of the sweeping/plaster residue.
the last 5-6 days it really only went up about 2 psi.
i just backwashed today because i wanted to add CYA.
