Dark round stain the size of quarter

in 2 spots on the bottom of our IG vinyl pool, there are 2 dark round stains. Tried to scrub them off with no luck. Any idea what causes it ?

.. it was found when we opened the pool after the winter.

Also, Any ideas on how to remove?

Oops just realized it's a vinyl pool. Hopefully someone will be along that can help.

Could something metal have blown in the pool? We had to have our roof replaced winter 2004 after a hurricane. The following month a storm blew some loose roofing nails into the pool and left stains much like those you describe. I just had to live with it until time to replace the liner. (Now!)
