Slow return

I have a Kayak pool with a sta-rite modular meda filter and a waterford pool pump. The return does not see to be putting out the pressure it once did. I checked filter basket and skimmer basket, both are clean. I purged filter. What else should I do.

Modular media is cartridges right?
Did you take the cartridges out and clean them good?
What's the pressure gauge on the filter reading?
Dirty filters will cause low flow out the returns so will a partially plugged pump impeller or clogged piping.
Answering the pressure gauge question will guide us in the right direction.

The last reading on the gauge was 18 .

The gauge is stuck on 10 when it is off and it reads 28 when running. If I remember correctly, last season it read about 18 also. ( I just used 10 as the starting point since it is stuck)

You really need to replace the gauge. If it's offset by ten it isn't accurate at any pressure.

Sounds like you need to take the filter apart and clean the cartridges.
