DPD Powder

Can DPD powder (perhaps the concentration) change over time.

I shocked my pool on opening and the pool stayed at shock level despite being very green for 3 hours (before hiting the sack). Pool looks better in the morning. I didn't test before heading to work so no numbers besides last night -

CYA - 45
PH - 8.2
FC - 17

Always a distinct possibility I am doing something wrong...

If the water turned pink, it should be fine. Count each drop of R-0871 as 0.5ppm if using a 10ml sample

Yeah, the DPD powder will stay good for a while....it will start to turn darker and darker from almost day one but as long as it turns the sample pink/rose, the test is valid.

You didn't ask but you need to get your pH down.....sooner rather than later
