Just tested my water. Have been fighting to get rid off cc's. Shocked it last night. Readings today:

FC: 12.5
CC: 0
ph: 7.2
CYA: 30
Temp: 83

is the 12.5 too high .. finaly at 0 CC. should I turn off my in-line tablet chlorinator for a couple of days till it comes down .. or just leave it all the way it is. ??? Was fC: 3 and CC: .5 before shocking last night.

Also added Borax tonight to bring up the PH.

If you haven't, you may want to do an overnight FC loss test. If the CL holds overnight, then go ahead and let it come back down. Is your water clear?

Yes the water is clear.

Seperate issue .... I keep a solar cover on the pool. Will that have any effect on chemicals?

No negative effects....one good day of full sun and half of that chorine will be gone

just did another fc test. now fc:11.5 cc: .5 ph 7.6

small drop in fc. just can't keep cc zero

Having CC alternating between 0 and 0.5 is fine. Some pools always have a CC level of 0.5, which really isn't a problem. As long as CC doesn't go up to 1.0, don't worry about it.

On another post up the chain here ... someone if the FC held overnight. It went from 12.5 to 11.5 ? is that 1 considered a loss overnight ... or is ut insignificant?

A loss of 1.0 or less overnight is considered fine.
