Improving Intex Skimmers

I love my Intex oval-frame pool, but there are a few weak spots. The oval frame pools have the inflatable ring on the top. The skimmer that is included clamps onto the ring. This is pretty flimsy, especially when it gets colder and the air pressure in the ring drops.

I found a super cheap solution if you have the volleyball net attachment. Connect the skimmer bracket to the volleyball net pole with a hose clamp. Be sure to put tape of the part of the clamp that sticks out to avoid scratches.

Great idea. When we had our Intex, we always put a large piece of foam between the skimmer bracket and the ring, because it never stayed fully inflated if the weather got cool (every night!)
