Cloudy pool in 12 hours

Learned my lesson...big-time.

Got in the hot tub last night. Bumped heater up to 100 degrees. As usual, moved all the valves back to filter the pool when I was finished. Forgot to put the heater in pool mode (85 degrees).

Much to my dismay, I came home for lunch, went outside, and saw a horribly cloudy pool. Was perfectly clear 12 hours ago. Pool was 99 degrees, and heater still chugging along.

Am I to assume that I cooked something out of the pool chemistry?

Obviously, pool heater is off, and probably won't need its services for at least a week.

You should test FC, CC, and PH as soon as possible, and post a full set of test results. The odds are good that the higher temperatures used up all of your chlorine, and you want to get some more in to prevent algae from getting started. The cloudiness is probably from algae, though there are a couple of other possibilities.
