no hum on start-up

hi

I have an A.O. smith motor on a Sta Rite Max E Glass II pump. The pool wasn't opened last summer.
So the pump was last operated 18 months ago. It was drained at that time.
2 years ago the pump was re- built . It was blowing fuses 2 secs after start-up.
Now when I flip the switch - nothing - no hum.

I even checked the fuses with a multi meter. They are fine.
I tapped the housing at start-up too.

I'll take the motor back to the shop .

Suggestions ?

TIA

Turn off power at breaker. verify power is off with meter at the pump deck.

Remove the motor wires at the terminal.

Set meter to ohms. check resistance of motor windings. A reading like 10 ohms is good a bad reading will be unreadable and display will flash its error message. ( OL on mine for over-limit.)

If windings are bad change motor out.
