cloudy/algae?

I raised the fc to 7 last night and it has held today at the same.the water is still cloudy.How long will it take for it to clear?I have cleaned the filter the past 2 days and it was vaccumed today.Also is it okay to keep the fc at 7all summer or when this clears up should we lower it back to 4 or 5?

Your FC is determined by your CYA level. Posting a complete set of numbers would help.

Your shock level is 13 FC for your cya level. After things clear you can drop FC to 4 or 5 with no problems. I would suspect that the cloudyness is just dead alge and should be filtered out soon enough. keep the filter clean and continue to brush untill it clears.
