CYA reading at shock level

Is the CYA reading while at shock level accurate? I mysteriously have a cya reading much lower than I should and was wondering if that has been affected by the high level of chlorine I've had the last 3 days.
 
Yes, that is possible since the chlorine bound to CYA is probably preventing the measurement of that bound CYA in the CYA test. Try adding drops of chlorine neutralizer (R-0007) at the rate of one drop for every 5 ppm FC to your water sample (and mix thoroughly) before adding the CYA reagent. Let us know if this makes a difference in your result.
