PH and TA... Which one's the chicken? Which the egg?

Today's test results:

FC:2.5
CC: 0.0
PH: 7.8
TA: 70
CH: 110
CYA :60 (and climbing)

From what I read Muratic Acid will bring down my PH but also the TA. I can bring up the TA with Baking Soda, but that will make my PH even higher. Any advise on lowing Ph (7.5 or so) and raising Alkalinity so it stays kind of constant?

Why would you want to raise your TA? TA around 60 to 70 is perfect for a SWG.

Muriatic acid will lower the PH a lot, and lower the TA just a little. Likewise baking soda will raise the TA a lot, and lower PH just a little. So you can do both and things will work out give or take only a small error.

Remember, don't micro-manage your levels. Let things drift around some as long as they stay in the right general range.
