I have some black stains on the floor of my pool that look like a burn from a lighter ( dark spot with a tail). I have had them every year, seems like some years are worse than others. Any way to get rid of them?

That sounds like it is probably organic staining. Try placing a trichlor tablet on one of the stains for 5 to 10 minutes and see what that does. If it is an organic stain, trichlor will remove it or at least lighten it up.
