And the bird!!! FINALLY, just today, she didn't freak when crossing the threshold over the water, lol.

We had a grey that passed away last fall. We miss him terribly.
Her name is Sophie. We've had her since November. She's about 11 years old and was a re-home due to her previous owner passing away. She was previously just left on her cage all the time, so it's been a slow and steady progress building trust and getting her more social. She's still pretty much a one person bird but slowly warming to the wife (She always has the treats).
She didn't think much of the pool initially and would hop off my arm and run right at the edge. I finally perched her on a foot stool at the edge and she just watched me. When I offered my hand she started slowly showing interest and finally stepped up

LOL, she talks almost non-stop and can't shut her up. One day I need to set up a cam by her cage and record her since she talks better than most I've seen online. Sometimes we wonder where she even picked something up, then she mixes it up and makes new sentences. Her calling the dog in is the funniest though because the dog can't stand her but she'll sit there "Come on girl, want a treat?", and then the dog runs back outside again
Fun thread - glad it keeps coming back to life - started many years back. This is the partner and I. I'm the shorter one without the cap.
