Adding approx. 1/2 inch of water per day

Is this normal...I'm guessing it's evaporation, but it could be a very slow leak? Am I maintaining my CYA levels if I'm adding approx. 1/2 inch of water every day (17,500 gallons)? If I'm not, it might be wise to go ahead and use my tablets throughout the swim season. Just curious what you think.

Do a bucket test. That will determine if it is evaporation or not.

CYA does not evaporate, so the levels will remain pretty constant (you will only diminish it by splash out). I'd pass on using the tablets.

Did you do the bucket test yet? It's possible you're losing 1/2" per day to evaporation, but that seems high unless you're in high heat direct sun environments.
