Best kind of pool bottom

My PB has talked up his cement pool bottom for my IG. Others have advertised vermiculite or sand. Is one better than another or is it simply personal preference?

a cement bottom will be nice and hard and make installing a replacement liner one day easier for the installer since the area can be swept clean like a basement floor of any tiny stones without ripping up the floor which can happen with a hard pack. if you can afford the extra price i'd go with it.
