Can I repair my light? See Pic

That is a rusted hole in the cone along that rust stripe. Is there a safe way to patch this? I know that a new one is in order but money is tight right now.
BTW - It is an Amerlite

That could work, but with the metal in the condition, it seems unlikely that it would hold for very long.

JB Weld. Good for up to about 1000 degrees. People repair cracked engine blocks with this stuff. Just grind the rust off.

That could work, but with the metal in the condition, it seems unlikely that it would hold for very long.

I would certainly grind it down to bare metal first, and make the patch area thicker than the original metal.

Or you could weld a new piece of sheet metal over that area.
