Ebay Sand filter worth the money?

I was looking at sand filters on ebay. They have a no name brand filter there. The pumps that they are selling with it are a brand called pmx so im guessing that the filter is that too. i personally like hayward filters. My brother in law wanted to save money so he bought one of them. He seems to like it

1) Avoid unknown brands. When, not if, you need parts, most often, you can't and are stuck buying another filter.

2) Hayward sand filters are right up there, IMHO, with the non-brand name gear. Not because you can't get parts but because of the frequency of repairs needed like the vertical tube in it cracks, spider gaskets not available (need to buy the top 1/2 of the MPV) and some others.
