Rookie Help- Pool discharge - stoopid stoopid stoopid

Ok, I have done something stupid. I am a new pool owner. Ran the pool successfully until two days ago- sparkling, great. Inground pool, chlorine, main pump with Spider valve and supplemental polaris pump are on timer. I backwashed and valve is set to "normal circulate". However, I do admit to messing around with two "inline" valves that I shouldn't have touched. Now when the pool valve is set to normally circulate, it dumped 2 inches of water as in "discharge"/drain. In other words the pool settings are showing normal circulate but the water is ending up draining out of the pool and in the yard. HELP? I know I have done something stupid. Loss of prime? Broke spider valve (how I don't know, but it is plastic)?

Any chance you are turning your multiport valve while the pump is on?

I must have had a valve closed/open.

Bigger trouble now is that I have broken the handle on the spider valve- it broke where the pin attaches.

You can buy parts for those valves. Do a search for your particular make and model and you should be able to find someone that sells parts. Your local pool store might have them.
