Why wait to use SWG?

Why is it suggested to wait 30 days before using the SWG when starting a new pool with new Pebbletec?

Because it may not have cured completely and you can cause damage to it, is what I have heard.

whoozer is right. High salt levels can cause plaster damage during the first few weeks before the plaster has mostly cured. The plaster doesn't finish curing for a very long time, but after 30 days it will be cured enough to prevent any possible damage from salt.
