Did you try resetting everything? We had an issue with our heater turning on the first time - so we did a hard reset by turning everything off at the breaker. Not sure if that is the right solution but it worked!
Also - for our pool we have to switch pump to spa mode, then turn spa jets then turn heater…

Hope that helps!

Thank you. I did try those and it didn’t kick on. I did let them know so it’s on the agenda during the fixes that are going on.

So the deck has been cut out and the plumbers will be here tomorrow to adjust the skimmer height and fox pipe lengths etc.

I also had a question about plaster. I have blue surf and I brushed it daily sometimes a couple times. There isn’t much dust yet but I notice that there are shades of color in areas. When you look close up the darker blue areas just seem to have more of the blue plaster.

Is this something that should have been during acid wash?

They did tell me wait 30 days for true color. The pool looks great but these are noticeable to me. So should be something that I bring up or will it just take more time?

Your plaster looks much better than pictures posted in other threads. Each pool has its own character so something you need to decide. For your peace of mind, you should discuss it and determine what is your PB's view. As noted in other posts, the potential fix may be riskier than the current state.

You may want to delay any discussion on plaster color until after the skimmer repairs. That is a major issue and you want that done properly and want their attention on that now.

It is great that they are proceeding with the skimmer repairs. Hope that goes well.

Thanks for the input. I just wanted to know if it was fairly common or if I had to mention it. Since it seems like it's pretty common, i'll bring it up all the way at the end since there are a few patches they fixed when they were plastering that are much darker and the gunite/plaster guys said they would fix it.

I know there are always going to be problems with building anything and contractors, but it's how they fix the issues that separates the good from the bad. So far since day one they have worked to resolve any issues even as big as this one. So I am happy about that even if it's a pain to deal with.

One thing I did think about tonight when looking at that picture. The initial deck was created and level based on the skimmer top, Now that this skimmer has to be moved up about 1.75 inches, they probably have to figure something out about the deck since this wraps around the whole pool. Unless there is a way to adjust the height of the top part of the skimmer and the lid. From the looks of the pictures I don't think it can be.
