Has anyone DIY replaced main board in Aqua Rite SWG

Seems we need to replace the main board in our Aqua Rite Electronic Salt Generator after 5 years. Just out of warranty of course! Has anyone done this themselves? I can find it online for $189. Been quoted between $400 - $700 for pool service to do. I know it won't be covered under warranty if we do it, but think I am willing to take a chance for $189. Thanks for any advice!

I haven't checked it out but it shouldn't be too hard. Take the cover off and make sure the boards look the same. Not sure if it uses connectors or if the wires are soldered to the board. If it's connectors then you should be able to unplug the old one and plug in the new one. If soldered, find someone who can solder and have them connect the wires.
