The new liner was installed last thursday. I have an 18 x 36 inground Foxx vinyl liner pool. After filling, I added 6lbs of stabilizer friday. I know I need to wait a week to get an accurate reading on CYA levels. Here are my test results so far.
FC 1.0
TC 1.0
PH 7.8
Alkalinity 160
Hardness 190
TDS 400
The chlorine seems a little low. Since total and free are the same each time I test, do I need to shock the pool? Also I am more used to battling low ph. Should I drop both Alkalinity and Ph? Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, I would lower the PH to 7.2. The TA is a tad high but that won't hurt anything other than maybe cause the PH to drift back up. If it does hit 7.8 again, just lower it back down to 7.2 with muratic acid. Each time you add acid the TA will drop a little and eventually both will be in range.

Whoozer is correct, if your FC holds overnight there is no reason to shock.
