Replace bearings or buy new motor?

The bearings can be replaced if you are handy with tools, though in many cases it is better to have the motor rebuilt by a motor shop or possibly replace the entire motor. It all kind of depends on what condition the motor is in other than the bearings. The better shape it is in, the less that needs to be done to it.
