When to use granulated chlorine?

I just opened what I thought was going to be a bucket of chlorine tablets, and there are granules instead. I think this was part of 'buy this get that' offer from the pool store -- I don't have the receipt so am stuck with the stuff.

When and how do I use this? Dang, learning the hard way....

Sodium dichloro-triazinetrione dihydrate

It's made by REGAL, and the product is called Dy-chlor II (roman number '2')

You'll still be able to use it, perhaps sparingly.

Dichlor (we abreviate it) has a ton of CYA in it. That's great if you have none in your pool but that's terrible if you already have enough.

Can you provide a set of test results that includes your CYA reading?

CYA reading will have to wait a week. I don't have the printout from the pool store and won't go again til next weekend. I'll be back...

For every 10ppm FC from dichlor, you get about 9ppm CYA. That's why you don't want to use it in the pool unless you need to raise your CYA.
