Inground Pool Ladders

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to put on removable inground pool ladders (or in the sockets) to make them easier to remove in the fall? Does anyone else have a hard time getting them out at closing time?

i take my ladder bumpers and turn them upside down and put them in the cups

They can be a little tricky, I run the hose in them, it helps loosen and sand that has creeped in the cracks.

If you coat them with marine grease they will last longer and be easier to take out.

I second JasonLion's method. They slide out with no effort.
