algaecide AND bleach?

Doing startup and going back over pool school info. It seems that bleach is the best algaecide, but some posts have also recommended to use algaecide and bleach together, but only for Spring startup.
Can I skip the algaecide and just use bleach?
(We just hit 60 degree water temp and algae started to appear yesterday, will be opening this week.)

I'd grab the bleach NOW. Isn't Walmart open 24 hours?
Algaecide later if you want, but nip it in the bud![/center:933wj7qs]

I wouldn't bother with algaecide on opening. Algaecide is more useful at closing.
