Just starting with salt.

I am changing over from chlorine to salt when i take the cover off in a few weeks. Do i go ahead and start putting salt in the pool when i turn the pump on, or do i need to shock and add all the other chemicals first to get everything stabilized before switching completely over to salt?

I would clean, shock if necessary and balance everything out first.

So any newbies don't misread your post......

A salt pool is a chlorinated pool. The SWG is simply a different way of getting chlorine into your pool than you have been doing

It doesn't really matter when you add the salt. Salt won't really affect anything else. On the other hand, it is a good idea to get everything clean and balanced before you turn on the SWG.
