After years of water line tiles coming off we have finally decided to redo them.
There is nothing wrong with pool or bond beam etc, just old ugly, falling off, tiles that need replacing.
When choosing our new tiles what will give us best longevity?
Sheets of 1" x 1" mossaic or just simple 6" sq tiles?

Thanks

The short answer is neither. Proper application will hold the tile on.

Prepping the surface, using the correct thin-set (or epoxy),and grouting the tiles properly will result in the tiles being in place indefinitely.

A common cause of them coming off in cold climates is allowing moisture to get behind them, freeze, and the tile pops right off. I'm not sure if that was your case but it's a common cause.

The best DIY tile forum on the net is Johnbridge.com. They will probably help solve a really tough problem better than here but there are some pretty good tile guys here, too, that can advise you all the way through a good installation.
