I bought a house last year and this was what was in the back yard.

Started draining and pulled the dry-rotted vinyl out.

After getting the 100s of frogs and half dozen turtles out there was a foot of sludge

Power washed the deck, the surface washer was the best $150 spent.

Finally drained and cleaned.

Sanded all the rust off the steel walls and painted with zinc oxide paint.

New Liner going in

Not nearly as nice as some of the pools I've seen on here, but a man has to start somewhere.

Very good job! What is that surface washer in the picture? It looks like it really got rid of the black mold. Is that something you rented or purchased?

It hooks to a pressure washer and cleans as you pull it along.

It cleaned the 16" wide strip in the picture in about 30 seconds. I'll never clean a deck without it again.

I got it here http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200041224_200041224

I caught it on sale for $150.

I perked up when I saw that pressure washer deal too. Man, that's the ticket!

I just recently purchased a pressure washer from Northern Tool back in December. It's just a gas powered one with a wand but it really works well. I'll tell you though, having that full 16" swath would really speed things up when it comes to things like driveways. I've got tool envy.

Nice job.

How long did all of this take? Were the frogs alive?

It took 2-3 months working on nice weekends and in between work on the rest of the house.

The frogs were alive and thriving, it was basically a full blown pond.

For a moment I felt bad destroying an ecosystem, that passed quickly.

WOW!

What an amazing transformation. I could only imagine the work you had to put in to that.

Great job. The pool looks absolutely fantastic now. ENJOY! You deserve it after all that :goodjob:

1 Question. With that pressure washer, do you need to have a power washer first that it hooks into? Or can you just get a cheap $30 gun?
Will it do pavers?

It hooks to a power washer.
The different sizes are rated for different PSI and GPM.
The 16" can handle up to 4200 psi and 5 GPM.
I use a 3000 psi / 3 GPM washer.

I'd be concerned about it blowing the sand out from between the pavers.

It is basically two 0° nozzles spinning at 300+ RPM.

Here's a pic of the underside.
